“How To Make Synthetic Ion Channels,” will be presented by Dr. Anna Moroni, University of Milan. Ion channel are modular proteins comprising a central pore connected to periferal regulatory domains. Following a synthetic approach, we design and construct new ion channels from individual components. In particular we are redesigning potassium channels for the purposes of optogenetics.
The seminar begins at 4:00 p.m., preceded by a reception at 3:30 p.m. The seminar is free and open to the public. The Beadle Center is located at 1901 Vine Street. The complete schedule of seminars may be found at http://biotech.unl.edu/
