Coffee and Conservation. JOIN US!

Coffee and Conservation brings together researchers, conservation organizations, agencies, ag businesses, lenders and other partners to explore opportunities for Nebraska’s working landscapes, with the goal of strengthening connections to farmers, ranchers and producer networks. At the June 3 conversation, attendees discussed how conservation can be more effectively integrated into working agricultural systems by aligning practices with production goals, economic realities, producer decision-making, measurable environmental outcomes, and stackable enterprises. The discussion also highlighted opportunities to better coordinate outreach, technical assistance, research, communication, and systems-level support across organizations and partners.

As Nebraska’s working lands face growing demands to produce food, fuel and fiber while supporting soil, water, wildlife habitat and rural communities, Coffee and Conservation aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and applied research that can help optimize both agricultural productivity and conservation outcomes for future generations of Nebraskans. This event is co-led by Dr. Andrew Little (Applied Wildlife Ecology and Spatial Movement [AWESM] Lab) and Dr. Eric Hunt (Assistant Extension Educator - Agricultural Meteorology and Climate Resilience) in the School of Natural Resources.

The next Coffee and Conservation meeting will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 10 a.m. CST in 207 Hardin Hall and via Zoom (https://unl.zoom.us/j/99499029551). All are welcome to attend.
