Enjoy the evening weather after the Husker game and celebrate the outdoors at the "Right in My Own Backyard: A Celebration of Nebraska's Natural Wonders" event from 5-8 p.m., Oct. 5 at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue, Neb. at 1111 Bellevue Blvd N.
Attendees are invited to explore the outdoors along the scenic Fontenelle Forest boardwalk as Master Naturalists lead you on exciting naturalist adventures with raptors, frogs, plants, birds and more. While you're here, get a sample of what Nebraska has to offer and learn about the many opportunities in your own backyard. You'll even get a peek at the Green Revolution exhibit, on display inside the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center.
"We're going to pack more nature into one beautiful and enjoyable place than you can imagine. Want to get the kids away from the PlayStation and texting for a while?" said Annabel Lee Major, Nebraska Master Naturalist program coordinator. "Here's your chance."
Come explore along with our friends at Branched Oak Farms, The Grain Place, Woggworks Kayaking, Shepherd’s Dairy, Wild Bird Habitat Store, Tree Adventure at Arbor Day Farm, Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society, The Nature Conservancy, Glacier Creek Preserve, Calamus Outfitters, MORE Nature, Nebraska Nature Network, Nebraska Outdoor U!, Climate Masters of Nebraska, Papio Missouri Natural Resource District, Prairie Plains Resource Institute, Crafty Hands Boutique, Spring Creek Prairie, Pioneers Park and more.
This event is outdoors, rain or shine. For adults, registration fees are $15. Children ages 12 and under can get into the event for free. All registration fees support your Nebraska Master Naturalist volunteers.
