Water for Food Institute hosts 'Transdisciplinary Conversations'

The Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute will host its next "Transdisciplinary Conversations" event for University of Nebraska faculty, staff and students from 4:30-6 p.m., Oct. 24 at the Wick Alumni Center.

"Transdisciplinary Conversations" is a monthly series of events intended to bring together University of Nebraska colleagues from diverse fields with a shared interest in water and food research to gather informally, discuss cross-cutting questions and explore new directions for collaborative research.

A brief, informal talk will be given by James Van Etten, William Allington Distinguished Professor of Plant Pathology and co-director of the Nebraska Center for Virology. Van Etten will discuss the important role collaborations and serendipitous discussions have played throughout his distinguished career.

Next month's "Transdisciplinary Conversations" event will be held from 4:30-6 p.m., Nov. 20 at the Wick Alumni Center.

The Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska is a research, education, and policy analysis institute committed to helping the world efficiently use its limited freshwater resources, with particular focus on ensuring the food supply for current and future generations.
