Bob Kuzelka, emeritus associate professor, has received the 2014 Maurice Kremer Groundwater Achievement Award. He was presented with the award at The Groundwater Foundation's National Forum in Las Vegas.
Established in 1985, the Kremer Award recognizes Nebraskans who have made a substantive contribution to the conservation and protection of Nebraska's groundwater. It is named after the late state Sen. Maurice Kremer, of Aurora, a champion of water issues in the Legislature.
Kuzelka was full-time faculty member at UNL from 1979 to 2004. Over those years he was affiliated with the Conservation and Survey Division; the Department of Community and Regional Planning; Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife; the Nebraska Water Center; and the School of Natural Resources. From 2001 through 2008, he served as director of UNL's interdisciplinary Environmental Studies Program.
