To align with federal regulations, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's passport office is changing to a by-appointment application system with limited walk-in hours.

The new approach, which starts Nov. 30, is designed to better manage a projected increase in passport applications and provide a better customer service experience for all applicants.

The reservation system, available at http://passport.unl.edu, allows applicants to schedule an appointment up to five business days in advance. All appointments will be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. A walk-in service will be offered noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Agent availability will determine the number of applicants accepted during walk-in hours.

The passport office at UNL is located inside the Business Services Complex, 1700 Y St. Visitor parking is available.

All passport forms and related information, including fees and how to apply, is available at http://passport.unl.edu or on the Department of State's official website for passport and travel information, http://travel.state.gov.
