Making classroom connections between farmers and students

Randa Jabbour, agroecologist with the Plant Sciences department at the University of Wyoming, will present her work connecting her university students with farmers at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at 109 Bessey Hall, City Campus.

“This concrete approach addresses core competencies put forth by the Vision and Change Call to Action for undergraduate biology education,” she wrote about her work. “students in my classes have worked to directly address challenges reported by local producers.”

Jabbour will talk about how she’s incorporated interviews with farmers into her classroom as well as her current work outlining priority areas for organic agriculture curriculum.
