Recent accomplishments earned by members of the SNR community include Emeritus Professor Don Wilhite and graduate student Mazbahul Ahamad.
• Don Wilhite, emeritus professor, founder of the National Drought Mitigation Center and former SNR director, was awarded the 2016 Lincoln-Lancaster County Environmental Leadership Award on Nov. 2 at Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center. The awards banquet honored those in the community dedicated to protecting the environment, people’s health and their quality of life.
“Your dedication to protecting our quality of life is greatly appreciated,” wrote Scot Holmes, Environmental Public Health Division manager is a letter to Wilhite.
• Mazbahul Ahamad, graduate research assistant, is the recipient of the Fall 2016 SNR Graduate Student Association travel grant award. He will use the award to attend the 22nd Visiting Graduate Student Workshop in Experimental Economics scheduled for Jan. 10 to 14 at Chapman University in Orange, California.
