The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting at 12:30 p.m. April 27 in Maxwell Arboretum on East Campus.
Speakers include Michael Boehm, Harlan Vice Chancellor for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and University of Nebraska vice president for agriculture and natural resources; Richard Ferguson, professor of agronomy and horticulture; Christina Hoyt, executive director of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum; Ted Hartung, Friends of Maxwell Arboretum; Eileen Bergt, assistant director of landscape services; and Jeff Culbertson, assistant director of landscape services.
The ceremony will conclude with the planting of an Engelmann spruce tree (Picea engelmanii) in the arboretum.
The event is free and open to faculty, staff and students.
