The Staff Senate would like to share staffing changes within the Staff Senate. Terry Haverkost was elected as the Staff Senate President during our first Staff Senate meeting in January 2023. This summer, Terry was offered and is pursuing the opportunity of a lifetime. Unfortunately for us, it is an opportunity outside of our institution. As the previous Vice President of Internal Affairs, and per our by-laws, Sara Haake then was appointed as Staff Senate President. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as your advocate, representative, and leader in fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and growth.

The Staff Senate convened on July 13 in a special session to open nominations to fill the then vacant position of Vice President of Internal Affairs. Nominations from current senators were accepted for the thirty days, followed by a seven day on-line voting period where Jordan Gonzales was elected as the new Vice President of Internal Affairs.

We have had other staffing changes that have provided opportunities for new senators to join the senate. While it has been bittersweet to lose valuable members of our inaugural class of senators, we are excited to bring Spencer Hall (District 3), Megan Ebbers (District 7), Kristin Jagels (District 4), and Lisa Vonfeldt (District 6) on board. Please help us congratulate Jordan and welcome Spencer, Megan, Kristin, and Lisa to the staff senate.
