John Geppert, professor of finance and former director of assessment in the College of Business is partnering with the Center for Transformative Teaching to offer a hands-on workshop on Feb. 7 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. focusing on the evaluation and teaching of critical thinking using machine-graded questions.
While there are general concepts related to evaluating and teaching critical thinking, the aim of this workshop is for participants to develop discipline-specific question items that measure critical thinking and will require participants to have identified key concepts and the progression for learning those key concepts. Participants will find this exercise more productive when working with a colleague having similar expertise. There will be some pre-work before the workshop to ensure all participants are prepared to be hands-on during the session.
Participation is capped at 20 and registrants are encouraged to sign up with a colleague or graduate student with expertise in their discipline.
