Academic Technologies training and support opportunities

Academic Technologies will be offering training sessions as part of the Learning Series through the end of the fall semester. If you’re new to the Learning Series, it consists of weekly one-hour training sessions conducted via Zoom, each focusing on a specific service from the Academic Technologies catalog.

Fall Learning Series

  • Canvas Quizzes and the DLC Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – Learn about Classic and New Quizzes in Canvas, and discuss how these platforms can be used effectively with the Digital Learning Center. Register online.
  • Ally: Remediation Nov. 4, 11 a.m. – Used Ally and determined you have course content to remediate, but not sure what to do next? This session will walk you through practical steps for getting started with content remediation. Register online.
  • YuJa: Best Practices for Editing Captions Nov. 10, 1 p.m. – A YuJa representative will discuss best practices for editing captions. This session will be helpful for faculty and staff who are seeking to make their video content ADA Title II compliant. Register online.
  • Gradescope for Grading Fairness Nov. 17, 2 p.m. – A Gradescope representative will discuss how instructors can create fair student assessments with the platform. Register online.

For quick help with Canvas, YuJa, Zoom, or any other tech tools, join our Zoom Drop-Ins, Monday through Thursday from 1-4 p.m., at go.unl.edu/zoomdropins. The link is also in the Canvas Help Menu.

  • Recorded Sessions: If you can’t attend a scheduled training, all sessions are recorded and available in the Academic Technologies Shared Folder on YuJa.
  • Custom Sessions: For a synchronous online or in-person session on a specific topic, contact nusupport@nebraska.edu to schedule a one-on-one help session or a departmental presentation. We can provide small-scale, tailored training for any faculty or staff group on campus.
  • IT-TIPS: Weekly updates with news, training opportunities, and feature updates for supported tools. Subscribe online.
