First-Year Experience & Transition Programs (FYETP) seeks faculty interested in meeting and interacting with 200 first-generation students as part of the First Husker program this summer. First Husker is an immersive, three-day pre-semester orientation program designed to help first-generation students adjust academically and socially to UNL.
Participants of First Husker 2015 and members of UNL’s first-generation advisory committee have expressed an interest in having instructors talk informally with students during the First Husker program. You could serve as a table host during lunch or dinner and enjoy conversation with students, or you could join the First Huskers for an evening activity. Your exact participation can be based around your personal preferences and schedule. This year’s program runs August 14-17. http://success.unl.edu/first-husker
