To continue the discussion on motivation, engagement, innovation, and evidence in teaching and learning at UNL, the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor is sponsoring a Spring 2017 Teaching and Learning Symposium on February 23, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center.

Keynote presenter, Peter Felten, Assistant Provost and Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Learning & the Center for Engaged Learning, Professor of History, Elon University, is a fellow of the John N. Gardner Institute, and is currently president of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and co-editor of the International Journal for Academic Development. From 2010-2011, he served as president of the POD Network. His recent publications include the co-authored books “The Undergraduate Experience” (Jossey-Bass, 2016), “Transforming Students: Fulfilling the Promise of Higher Education” (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2014), and “Engaging Students as Partners in Learning and Teaching” (Jossey-Bass, 2014).

During the symposium you will have many opportunities to engage in conversations about teaching and learning, to hear from experts on emerging issues in improving student outcomes, and to network with others seeking to improve teaching at UNL.
