Save students money with inclusive textbook access

Follett's IncludED and Unizin's Engage Inclusive Access

Inclusive access to online textbooks saves students money and provides them with access to their textbooks on the first day of classes. Research shows that student success improves with access to course content on the first day of class.* Unfortunately, one third to half of students do not purchase a course textbook due to cost.

Inclusive access is easy for instructors to use and provides students with access to their electronic textbook right in Canvas. Many instructors can use their current course content, including courseware and homework tools. Working with content provided by the Unizin consortium or the Follett University Bookstore, instructors can pilot inclusive access for their students starting in fall 2019. Instructors will have access to electronic textbooks from all the major publishing companies at up to 80% off the price of traditional textbooks.

The benefits of inclusive access provided by both options include:

  • increased students savings
  • no decrease in student success**
  • easy adoption of e-textbook and courseware by instructors
  • materials from top publishers delivered in Canvas
  • student access codes not necessary.

Student textbook costs have increased over 800% in the last three decades — this is four times the rate of inflation. Inclusive access is an easy way to provide affordable content on day one for students.
