Registration for Campus Rec's Jr. Blackshirts program — which provides recreational activities for children during select home football games — opens Aug. 1.
The program is open to children ages 2 to 12 years. Cost is $25 per child, per game. Doors open 90 minutes prior to each scheduled game time and close 45 minutes after game completion. Games for Jr. Blackshirts are: Sept. 1, Southern Mississippi; Sept. 15, Arkansas State; Sept. 22, Idaho State; Sept. 29, Wisconsin; Oct. 27, Michigan; Nov. 10, Penn State; and Nov. 17, Minnesota.
Pre-registration is required. No gameday drop-ins will be accepted.
Children are assigned to activity groups according to age: Offense (2-3 years old), Defense (4-5 years old) and Special Teams (6-12 years old). Age-appropriate toys and games are provided. Swimming is available for participants age 6 to 12. Other activities include relays, movies, crafts, board games, basketball, football, soccer, volleyball and badminton.
