Are you curious about starting your own company? Thinking about working in the tech industry? Don’t miss Lincoln's inaugural Tech Crawl. More than 40 tech-related businesses will be opening their doors for UNL students, alumni, faculty and staff along with curious community members interested in an insider's perspective on how they operate.
UNL Career Services is co-sponsoring the event, which is an excellent networking and learning opportunity for innovative students and a rare opportunity to visit a wide range of business facilities, speak with the entrepreneurs, and learn how their ideas became their careers.
The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 4 - 7 p.m. All participating businesses will be conveniently located in the Haymarket and downtown area. Companies with virtual offices or distant locations will occupy booths on the third floor of the Mill building at the corner of Eighth and P streets. Maps will be available downtown to help you navigate this extensive collaboration of Lincoln entrepreneurs.
The Tech Crawl is part of Lincoln's first Startup Week, Sept. 7-13. Startup week kicks off with Startup Weekend, a two-day, hands-on event where local entrepreneurs take ideas and try to turn them into real products. The week also includes opening and closing mixers, a quick pitch competition, social media presentations, and free accounting and legal advice. With a robust economic climate, Lincoln has quietly become a boom town for startup prosperity in recent years. The entrepreneurs behind the successes have many telling stories to share, and they are eager to connect with UNL students. Feel free to encourage any curious students to take advantage of this stellar opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by Lincoln's thriving tech community.
