New York–based pianist Adam Tendler performs John Cage’s landmark work for piano, “Sonatas and Interludes,” 8 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Sheldon Museum of Art.
A pre-concert talk with Tendler, moderated by NET Radio host Genevieve Randall, begins at 7:30 p.m. A reception in Sheldon’s Great Hall follows the concert. The event is free and open to the public.
Tendler, who will be in Lincoln as part of a John Cage centenary tour, will spend Nov. 14-16 as a teaching artist-in-residence with students at Lincoln Public Schools, Lancaster County Youth Services, and UNL. His visit to Lincoln is a collaborative project of Sheldon and the Lincoln Arts Council.
