'Broadway Today!' is at the Lied Jan. 18

The Lied Center for Performing Arts presents "Broadway Today" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18. The performance features some of Broadway's biggest stars singing songs from a variety of shows, including "Book of Mormon," "Wicked," "The Lion King" and "South Pacific."

Tickets, available at the Lied Center ticket office, 402-472-4747 or http://www.liedcenter.org, are $35 for adults and $17.50 for youths.

A pre-show talk at 7 p.m. in the Lied's Steinhart Room will be led by William Grange, professor of theatre and film.

Broadway stars performing at the Lied include David Burnham, Jason Graae, Jessica Hendy and Christina Saffran Ahsford.

Burnham played Fiyero in the Broadway production of "Wicked." He was also a member of the original Broadway cast of the six-time Tony Award winning musical, "The Light In The Piazza," performing on both the Tony Awards and PBS' "Live From Lincoln Center."

Graae has starred on and off-Broadway in "A Grand Night For Singing," "Falsettos," "Stardust," "Forever Plaid," and "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh."

Hendy's Broadway credits include "Cats" in the role of Grizabella, "Aida" and "Amour." She toured the United States and Canada in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Cats."

Ahsford's career is extensive, starring in "Singin' in the Rain," "A Chorus Line" and "The Music Man." She has also provided animated voices for Disney's "Aladdin," "Mulan," "Magic Flute," "102 Dalmatians" and "A Bug's Life."
