'Iphigenie en Tauride' shows at the Ross

The Metropolitan Opera will play UNL when the Mary Riepma Ross hosts a live broadcast of Gluck's "Iphigenie en Tauride," at noon, Feb. 26. An encore performance is at 1 p.m., Feb. 27.

The opera is part of the 2010-2011 season of The Met: Live in HD, a series that features live performances from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

In "Iphigenie en Tauride," Susan Graham and Placido Domingo reprise their starring roles in this nuanced and elegant interpretation of the primal Greek myth. The performance includes tenor Paul Groves. Patrick Summers is the conductor.

Tickets are $23 general admission, $21 senior citizens, $16 for Ross members, students and children, and $5 for students (with a valid NCard).
