The Huskers will host the second annual "World's Largest Softball Tailgate" before the April 27 game with defending Big Ten champion Michigan at Bowlin Stadium. The event begins at 10 a.m. with first pitch at 1 p.m. Both the tailgate and game are free.
The tailgate and game drew 1,752 fans in 2012. The Huskers' goal is to have more than 2,000 fans attend the April 27 event.
The Nebraska softball team will provide hot dogs, chips and Pepsi products free to fans while supplies last. The event will also include inflatable games, balloon artists and face painters.
Fans are encouraged to show up early, stake out a spot and fire up grills.
