The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will host a live broadcast of Verdi's "Il Trovatore" at noon April 30. An encore performance is at 1 p.m. May 1. The performance is part of "The Met: Live in HD" series that features live broadcasts from New York City's Metropolitan Open House.

David McVicar's production of Verdi's drama premiered during the 2008-2009 season. James Levine leads this revival, starring four extraordinary singers - Sondra Sondra Radvanovsky, Dolora Zajick, Marcelo Álvarez and Dmitri Hvorostovsky - in the melodically rich score.

The opera's expected running time is three hours.

Tickets are $23 general admission, $21 senior citizens, $16 for Ross members, students and children, and $5 for UNL students (with valid NCard).
