The work of 12 students majoring in theater or vocal performance will be featured in the Musical Theater Showcase, 7:30 p.m., today in Westbrook Recital Hall, room 119. The performance is free and open to the public.

Students enrolled in the musical theater techniques class this semester developed the program. Alisa Belflower, coordinator of musical theater studies in the College of Fine and Performing Arts, teaches the course.

Students selected scenes from musical theater performances between 1900 and 1970. The students had the freedom to update the scene.

Each individual scene is a stand-alone performance. Belflower will introduce each piece and give background about the show it was from originally.
