Final preparations are under way for the terrorism response exercise planned on campus for May 11. Visitors and campus community members are reminded not to be alarmed by a heavy law enforcement presence during the Nebraska Emergency Management-led exercise, mainly in the area of Oldfather Hall from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lincoln and UNL police, Lincoln Fire and Rescue, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management, the Nebraska State Patrol, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the FBI and Lincoln's major hospitals will participate. NEMA has coordinated similar exercises, but they typically have been smaller.

People age 19 or older who are interested in volunteering as role players may sign up at http://go.unl.edu/terrex11 up until noon today (Tuesday). A small number of faculty are still needed to help play roles.
