Broad Appeal to open Fountain Frolics on June 2

The Fountain Frolics summer concert series opens June 2 with Broad Appeal performing on the Nebraska Union Plaza. Fountain Frolics concerts are noon to 1 p.m. every Thursday from June 2 to July 28 (except June 30).

The free concerts are sponsored by the University Program Council. For more information, click the link below.

Broad Appeal features a trio of UNL graduates who sing the songs from “Your Hit Parade,” a popular show that featured the week’s top songs from 1935 to 1959. Members are Julie Enersen, Anna Hanselmann and Laurie Lessman. The trio intermix a cappella arrangements and lively recorded band accompaniments.

Other performances in the series are: June 9, Jumpin’ Kate and the Naked Reserves; June 16, The Cronin Brothers; June 23, Toasted Ponies; July 7, The Melody Wranglers; July 14, The Lightning Bugs; July 21, Nebraska Jazz Combo; and July 28, The Resonators.
