The Employee Assistance Program is offering a six-session smoking cessation support group that starts Feb. 7. The first session is noon to 1 p.m.
The group will provide printed material and educational information about nicotine addiction. Participants will learn about specific triggers that cause people to smoke and practice coping strategies for stress.
Areas of discussion may include various strategies for quitting, medications for withdrawal symptoms, and ideas for lifestyle changes to improve chances for success.
The group also offers a supportive atmosphere, accountability, and the personal experience of other participants.
