Nominate Business Majors for the Inaugural Student of the Month Award

In January, the Nebraska Business Student Advisory Board launches the Student of the Month Award, a new honor for undergraduate business majors which recognizes contributions to the college’s community. The Student of the Month is someone who displays hard work in the classroom, exceptional leadership skills and active involvement within the college’s community.

Student of the Month winners will be automatically considered for the inaugural Student of the Year award. The winner of the 2018 Student of the Year will be awarded a $500 scholarship. Selected students will also receive recognition on College of Business signage and on social media along with the opportunity to connect with Dean Farrell and other faculty members.

Students nominated for consideration will need to:
- Submit a 250 word letter of support from a College of Business staff or faculty member
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Major in an undergraduate program in the College of Business.

Graduating seniors can be selected as a Student of the Month but will be ineligible to receive the Student of the Year scholarship. Students can nominate themselves for the Student of the Month award as long as they have a referral from a College of Business staff or faculty member. They can reapply each month if they are not selected. All applicants must fill out the online form that includes their GPA, year in school, major, volunteer involvement and two essay questions.

Nominations must be submitted by the last day of each month. January’s deadline is January 31. Then, nominees will have one week to submit their applications. To propose a student of the month candidate, visit: http://business.unl.edu/studentmonth.
