This presentation will discuss research on constructed wetland (CW) treatment systems of Turkey, focusing on how CW treatment systems work, specifics of CW treatment systems in Turkey, and common problems encountered in practice.

Zaki Alam Pushan: Analysis of the Potential Micro Pollution in Bangladesh Through Data-Driven Literature Review, Hotspot Identification, and Particle Identification

Microplastic pollution and their environmental and human health effects have emerged as a global concern and are being extensively researched. This was to review current and emerging primary research on the extent and characteristics of microplastic pollution in Bangladesh; determining the presence of microplastics in river water and sediment and finally provide a brief overview of the existing plastic recycling scenario and identify any potential contamination sources based on Dhaka. To identify microplastic from river water and sediment, Chandir ghat was selected as it is a busy zone for informal plastic recycling. Density separation was performed on both water and sediment samples to get rid of the heavy particles, sieved to get rid of the particles above 5 mm and finally treated with hydrogen peroxide for any organic matter. Raman microscope was used to identify any plastic particles and a total number of 9 plastic particles (2 from water sample and 7 from sediment sample) were identified from 15 particles tested.
