Scholarship recipients, graduates honored at Fall Banquet

The Department of Civil Engineering hosted its second annual Fall Banquet on Saturday, October 29th. The banquet, which honors students expecting to graduate in December as well as scholarship recipients for the 2016-2017 academic year, was held at the Strategic Air and Space Museum in Ashland, Nebraska.

This year, the department recognized 38 students who are expecting to graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering at the end of the fall semester. Scholarship recipients included 16 awardees from the College of Engineering for Department of Civil Engineering students and 42 awards given to students using funds from the Department of Civil Engineering. Dr. Daniel Linzell, Voelte-Keegan Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering, delivered the keynote speech.

The Fall Banquet is organized by the Department of Civil Engineering’s Social Committee, consisting of Dr. Massoum Moussavi, Dr. John Sangster, Arlys Blakey, Mellanie Gilroy, Patricia Lena and Keith McGuffey.
