In early September, UNL refreshed its brand with a new selection of official typefaces: the sans-serif Work Sans, paired with the serif typeface Source Serif. A team led by University Communication also chose the condensed font Oswald for use in logo lockups and other special purposes.
Updates were made on Friday, Sept. 1 to introduce the fonts to university websites and apps. They were also distributed that day for use on desktop computers.
These open source fonts are now available for download from the University Communication and Marketing website. They may be installed on any university computer without restriction.
In Windows, fonts are managed through Control Panel>Fonts (or Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Fonts). On Mac computers, use the Font Book utility.
UNL’s Lockup Factory was updated in October to incorporate these changes.
