OLLI members have been asking when to expect the return of the Spring Winery Tour. The answer is on Friday, June 1. We have a great lineup of western Iowa wineries for our daylong excursion.
We will start the day with a late morning sampling of Nebraska wines at Slattery Vintage Estates near Nehawka. Then we travel to western Iowa’s Bodega Victoriana in Glenwood for sampling accompanied by a luncheon featuring Spanish tapas.
It is a short distance to Vine Street Cellars, also in Glenwood, for our early afternoon sampling. We wrap up the afternoon at Treynor, Iowa, for a visit to Prairie Crossing Winery. We head to Silos Restaurant in Treynor for an included dinner featuring your choice of prime rib, chicken or pork loin.
Jim Danielson, wine aficionado, will accompany us and discuss the finer points of viniculture and wine making.
