Farewell reception for Espy is June 15

A farewell reception for Kimberly Espy is 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., June 15 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. A short program is scheduled for 4 p.m. The event is open to faculty, staff and students.

Espy, associate vice chancellor of research and a professor of psychology, is leaving UNL. She has been named vice president for research and innovation at the University of Oregon.

She joined UNL in 2005 and has been responsible for strategic interdisciplinary initiatives, research compliance and faculty development. Espy started the Research Development Fellows Program, an initiative to help pre-tenure faculty successfully compete for external grant funding. She also was acting dean of Graduate Studies and directs UNL's Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, which investigates young children’s cognitive development.

The reception is hosted by the Office of Research and Economic Development.
