UNL Summer Research Scholars will showcase their work in a poster session, 1 to 3 p.m., Aug. 10 in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. Researchers include participants in the Nebraska Summer Research program and the McNair Scholars program. The poster session is free and open to the public.

The Nebraska Summer Research Program is a consortium of NSF-funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates and other summer research opportunities programs. The programs partner with the Office of Graduate Studies.

The McNair Scholars Program was started in 1986 by the U.S. Department of Education. It is named in honor of astronaut Ronald McNair, who died during the Jan. 28, 1986 launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger. UNL's McNair Scholars Program encourages students to pursue graduate studies by providing opportunities to define goals, engage in research, and develop the skills and student/faculty mentor relationships critical to success at the doctoral level.
