Performance-based engineering talk is Nov. 10

A seminar on performance-based engineering for multiple hazards, structural reliability and risk assessment will be led by Bruce Ellingwood at noon, Nov. 10 in the Scott Engineering Center, room 237. The presentation will also be show via television in the Peter Kiewit Institute, room 212.

Ellingwood is a professor of engineering at Georgia Tech. His teaching, research and professional interests center on the application of methods of probability and statistics to structural engineering. He is internationally recognized as an authority on structural load modeling, reliability and risk analysis of engineered facilities, and as a leader in the technical development and implementation of probability based codified design standards for building structures.
