Movie talk on the Met Opera's 'Satyagraha' is Nov. 13

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will host a 1 p.m., Nov. 13 movie talk about Phillip Glass' opera "Satyagraha." The opera will be broadcast live from New York City's Metropolitan Opera House. The performance is part of "The Met: Live in HD" series.

The talk, which is free and open to the public, will be led by Sara (Baldus) Farr, a doctoral student in voice. At Viterbo University she received degrees in vocal music performance and English literature. She continued her musical education at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she received a master’s degree before coming to Lincoln for doctoral studies. Farr teaches at Doane College and Concordia University.

The live broadcast of "Satyagraha" at the Ross is 11:55 a.m., Nov. 18. An encore, recorded performance is 1 p.m., Nov. 20. The broadcast will be presented in Sanskrit.
