We had another successful semester for the tournament program. The fall 2016 tournament schedule included 13 student tournaments, the Riordan Cup, the CONE Cup, the Jones Cup, the Match Play Championship and a couple of PATs.
This fall was very interesting in that we had so many students on extended internship combined with an extremely small incoming class that the tournaments rarely filled. Even though the tournaments had smaller fields the competition was still intense and overall provided a lot of opportunities for the underclassmen to step up. This was apparent as first-year student Cordell Weber won 3 events and second year students Kramer Samuelson (3), Zach Sachen, Nathan Vaughn and Hunter Quinn all had individual wins.
The smaller on-campus student body led to a smaller prize pool for each tournament but still provided the winners with a minimum of $100 for a win.
