Jan. 29 Event Connects Women in Business

Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 8, 2004 -- All women in business, entrepreneurship and professional fields are invited to attend the Women in Business Benefit Jan. 29 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 1040 P St. The event is sponsored by University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the UNL Students In Free Enterprise team.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a trade show featuring businesses owned by women and organizations that help women start businesses. During the trade show, there will be live music, wine tasting and networking events. At 7:30, dinner will be served. Lyn Wallin Ziegenbein, executive director of the Peter Kiewit Foundation, will speak on her role as a top woman executive. Cynthia Milligan, dean of the UNL College of Business Administration, will present the $300 scholarship and award for the UNL Female Business Student of the Year. Accompanying dessert will be an Emily Chen Business Fashion Show featuring apparel from Purse Review, Fusion and couture designs.

SIFE is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in Nebraska as well as all over the world. The Women in Business Benefit will bring together women in Nebraska to network, empower, and support each other while also supporting less fortunate women in Africa. Proceeds from the event will benefit Women at Risk-Ethiopia to help poverty stricken women in Ethiopia start their own businesses, and become financially and emotionally stable.
