Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 15, 2004 -- College students interested in a study abroad experience will have a chance to learn all about what's involved Jan. 27 when the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Office of International Affairs hosts its spring Study Abroad Extravaganza.

The event will be presented from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St. It is free and open to the public.

This Study Abroad Extravaganza is a source for students to gather information on study abroad programs and hear about the experiences of recently returned participants. Students will be able to browse informational booths and speak with advisers to help them make their decision to study abroad.

The event will feature summer and fall study abroad programs in the year 2004, such as programs in Spain, France, Mexico, Denmark, Costa Rica, Italy and Germany, among others. There will also be information about financial aid and scholarships; a returnees' photo contest; and a drawing for a $250 scholarship.

Last year more than 500 UNL students studied abroad, covering almost all continents. They brought back knowledge and perspectives that have enriched both the university environment and their own global awareness.
