Cather Circle announces new members

The Nebraska Alumni Association's Cather Circle, a mentoring network for alumnae and women students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has added 43 collegians and 22 alumnae to its ranks.

The Cather Circle was formed in 1999 to connect outstanding alumnae and friends with women students who possess exceptional leadership potential. The group has 152 active alumnae members and 95 student members.

The group's fall meeting, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, built around the theme "Leading an Excellent Life," opened with keynote speaker Marjorie Shore of The Coaching Clinic in Toronto. She focused on achieving work life balance, while a workshop led by Darla Highley, a Chicago-based consultant, showed participants how to take charge of their lives. Concurrent sessions featured topics such as conflict resolution, defining the pillars of strength in your life, Queen Elizabeth I, a resume review session for students and a Willa Cather short story discussion.
