1,450 to get degrees at Dec. 18 UNL commencement

Lincoln, Neb., December 17th, 2004 —

Ted Kooser, poet laureate of the United States and professor of English in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Arts and Sciences, will give the address and receive an honorary doctor of letters degree at UNL commencement exercises Dec. 18 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, 1600 Court St.

Chancellor Harvey Perlman will preside over the 9:30 a.m. ceremony.

Approximately 1,450 students will receive degrees. The graduates hail from 38 states and 46 countries.

A list of graduates is available at the link below. Information includes the graduate's name, college, degree and any applicable honors (degree with distinction, high distinction or highest distinction). Degrees from programs of the University of Nebraska Medical Center or the University of Nebraska at Omaha that are taught on the UNL campus are indicated in parentheses as (UNMC) or (UNO).
