Army ROTC exercises include chopper fly-overs

WHERE: Football practice field behind Cook Pavilion

Lincoln, Neb., March 22nd, 2005 —

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Army ROTC program will conduct annual air assault training operations on campus March 24 and 31.

On March 24 (rehearsal for the event), two UH-60 helicopters will fly over campus and land on the football practice field behind Cook Pavilion between 2 and 3:30 p.m. They will be on the ground for about two hours and will depart about 5:30 p.m.

March 31 will be the actual operation. Again two UH-60s will be involved and they will land on the practice field at 3:30 p.m. They will be making several trips back and forth between UNL and Camp Ashland. Final landing at UNL should be approximately 7:30 to 8 p.m.
