Engineering College, Blueprint Magazine host journalism conference

Lincoln, Neb., March 30th, 2005 —

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering and Technology and Blueprint magazine will host the 2005 Engineering College Magazines Associated annual conference April 7-9 at The Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S. 13th St.

A wide variety of workshops will be offered, including sessions on team-building, communicating science to the media, editing and marketing. Speakers include Timothy Gay, professor of physics and astronomy at UNL and author of "Football Physics: The Science of the Game" (Rodale, 2004) and Stephanie Adams, assistant dean for research in the College of Engineering and Technology. The conference will open April 7 with a free "No Limit Hold 'Em Poker" tournament where several prizes will be given away to the best (and worst) players.

Engineering College Magazines Associated seeks to promote excellence in college engineering publications, to raise the quality of all member schools' publications through collaboration and workshops, and to increase advertising revenues through combining subscriber bases.

Blueprint is a magazine produced biannually by students for students in the UNL College of Engineering and Technology.
