Annual bull fry to benefit Virginia, Neb., farm accident victim

Lincoln, Neb., April 6th, 2005 —

The ninth annual Burr Hall Bull Fry will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 9 on the Love Memorial Hall lawn, 35th and Holdrege streets on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. The event features a meal, carnival and car show.

The meal features hamburgers, hotdogs and bull fries at the prices of $6 for adults, $5 for students and $4 for children. The carnival includes booths and inflatable games. The charity car show welcomes all makes and models. Registration is from 9-10 a.m. with a $15 registration fee, which includes a meal. Trophies will be awarded.

All proceeds will benefit Robyn Arena of Virginia, Neb. In December, her sleeve caught in a tractor's power takeoff drive and the accident resulted in amputation of her arm. She is undergoing rehabilitation at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. Robyn and her husband, Duaine, raise six children ranging in ages from teen-ager to her youngest, born one month before the accident.

Additionally, a bowl-a-thon is scheduled for 6-10 p.m. April 8 at the Nebraska East Union Lanes n' Games bowling alley. Registration is $50 per five-person team with registration the night of the event.
