College of Business Administration honors student scholars

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration will honor its top students from the 2003-04 academic year in an awards ceremony April 17 at the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St.

Aaron Robert Pomeroy of Lincoln will be presented with the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key, which is granted to the student graduating in May with the highest grade-point average in the college. Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities, to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice. The Alpha Delta chapter at UNL was formed in May 1924 and has had more than 2,000 members since its inception.

William Gold Scholarship Keys will be awarded to the top 10 students from last year's freshman class. The Gold Keys were established by William Gold, founder of the Gold & Co. department store in Lincoln and have been awarded since 1925.

Clifford M. Hicks Honor Keys will be awarded to 20 juniors who achieved high academic standing in their first two years at UNL. The award is named for Professor Clifford M. Hicks, who served on the College of Business Administration faculty for 43 years, and who was chair of the Department of Business Organization and Management from 1950 until his retirement in 1968.

James E. LeRossignol Certificates will be presented to the top 40 seniors in honor of the first dean of the College of Business Administration. He served from 1913 to 1941 and his 28 years of leadership established the reputation and academic quality of the college.
