Lincoln, Neb., April 26th, 2005 —

Two University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumni will receive the Nebraska Alumni Association's Young Alumni Award at the All-University Celebration and Salute to Alumni Achievement May 6 at the Nebraska Champions Club. The award is given annually to NU alumni who have provided exceptional service to the university through volunteer efforts or have distinguished themselves in their career or community.

The 2005 recipients are Jon Kelley (B.J., 1988) of Los Angeles and Clint Runge (B.S., B.J., 1999) of Lincoln.

Kelley is anchor and correspondent for "Extra," the nationally syndicated television show in Hollywood, where he does up-close and personal celebrity features and profiles. Kelley joined the "Extra" series in 2001 after a diverse broadcast career spanning more than 15 years in news, sports and entertainment. Previously, Kelley was at Fox Sports Network, where he served as the main anchor of "The National Sports Report," and the lead anchor for the weekly series, "Baseball Today." A former Cornhusker running back, he is the co-author of the book "Breaking Into Broadcasting," a guide to landing your first (or next) on-air job in television.

Runge is partner and creative director of Archrival, a brand strategy and design firm in Lincoln. His work has attracted local, national and international acclaim, and among his many awards is The One Show "Gold Pencil," the highest honor in the design industry. Runge has served on the board of the Advertising Federation of Lincoln and is adviser for the UNL student Ad Club and lecturer at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. He also has provided UNL, local businesses and nonprofit organizations with marketing advice and complimentary advertising campaigns.
