Lily Wang, an assistant professor of architectural engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has been honored by her peers in the world of acoustics.
The R. Bruce Lindsay Award is given by the Acoustical Society of America each spring to a member of the society who is age 35 or younger and who, during a period of two or more years immediately preceding the award, has been active in the affairs of the society and has contributed substantially to the advancement of theoretical or applied acoustics.
Described by the society as a "star in architectural acoustics," Wang has recently worked on computer modeling of acoustic fields in rooms, and the combined effects of temperature and noise on human performance. Wang also recently helped to start the first-ever student chapter of the Acoustical Society of America at UNL.
