Chancellor Perlman to visit North Platte Aug. 10-11

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Harvey Perlman will travel to North Platte Aug. 10-11 for a community visit. The visit is part of an ongoing effort to meet with community members to discuss university issues and hear the views of area citizens about the university and how it can best serve its "500-mile campus."
Perlman will speak at the Rotary meeting at noon Aug. 10 in North Platte at Sand Hills Convention Center. He will tour local businesses and meet with business leaders, in addition to attending and speaking at the first Great Plains Conference on Improving Crop Water Productivity Aug. 11 at the Mid-Plains Community College South Campus at North Platte. The conference is also held at and sponsored by the UNL West Central Research and Extension Center at North Platte.
Accompanying the chancellor will be Michelle Waite, assistant to the chancellor for community relations, and Meg Lauerman, director of University Communications.
