7 to receive military commissions in Aug. 13 ceremony

Lincoln, Neb., August 12th, 2005 —

Seven University of Nebraska-Lincoln students who have participated in the Reserve Officer Training Corps at UNL are scheduled to receive commissions in the U.S. Army, Air Force or Marine Corps on Aug. 13.

Following UNL commencement exercises, a joint commissioning ceremony involving the three service branches will be conducted beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St., where UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman will address the new officers.

Following is a list of candidates by hometown, with their service branch and rank at which they will be commissioned.

NEBRASKA

Gibbon: Lonnie Christopher Wilson, Marines, second lieutenant.

Lincoln: Mary Elizabeth Daugherty, Army, second lieutenant; Carole Aimee LeMoullec, Army, second lieutenant.

Omaha: Patrick Robert Tanner, Army, second lieutenant.

Wayne: Kevin Michael Youngmeyer, Air Force, second lieutenant.

ELSEWHERE

Lawrence, Kan.: Philip Newton Garito, Air Force, second lieutenant.

Midland, Texas: Scott Wayne Ballard, Marine Corps, second lieutenant.
