March 29 benefit to connect women in business

Women in business, entrepreneurship and professional fields are welcome to attend the third-annual Women in Business Benefit March 29 at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel, 333 S. 13th St. The benefit will bring together women in Nebraska to network, empower and support each other while also supporting less fortunate women in the community.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a trade show featuring businesses owned by women and organizations that help women start businesses. During the trade show, there will be a business attire fashion show featuring clothing by Joffee's Too and hair designs by XY Hair Studio. In addition, there will be live jazz music and a cash bar. Dinner will be served at 6.
Connie Ryan, president of Streck Labs in Omaha, will speak on entrepreneurship and setting and achieving goals. Cynthia Milligan, dean of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration, will present the $500 Werner Enterprises' Scholarship to an undergraduate Outstanding Future Business Leader. Glennis McClure of the REAP Women's Business Center will also be presenting awards to outstanding entrepreneurial women from across Nebraska.
The event is hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the UNL Students in Free Enterprise team, with marketing support from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. SIFE is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in Nebraska as well as all over the world. Proceeds from the benefit will be contributed to the YWCA's charity, Job Outfitters, to provide local underprivileged women with business clothing and personal care items.
Tickets are $35 for the public and $20 for students if purchased by noon on March 27. After noon March 27 and at the door, tickets will be $40 for the public and $25 for students. Those attending the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Seminar may buy tickets for $30.
