Lincoln, Neb., March 6th, 2006 —

The Kruger Collection at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Architecture will open its 2006-2007 exhibition, "The Human Aspect of Design," on March 20.

The exhibition will explore how interior spaces create or respond to human needs and the importance of retaining an indication of the original inhabitants in historical interiors. Two roomboxes feature replicated designs from Eloise Kruger's original roombox designs. The exhibition will run through March 2007.

The Kruger Collection was founded in 1997 with the donation of Eloise Kruger's 20,000-piece collection of 1-to-12 scale miniatures. Kruger began assembling her collection in the late 1930s and it includes the work of top miniature artists including Eric Pearson, Eugene Kupjack, Bob Carlisle, Warren Dick, Mell Prescott, and Betty Valentine.

A gallery opening will be held April 13 following a 4:30 p.m. address by Eva Maddox of Eva Maddox Designs. In conjunction with the exhibition opening, Volume 6 of In.Form, a journal of architecture, design and material culture, will be available for purchase.

The Kruger Gallery (http://krugercollection.unl.edu) is on the first floor of Architecture Hall-West, 10th and R streets. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. For more information or to schedule a tour, contact Amber Mohr, curator, (402) 472-3560 or e-mail.
